Grid Connected DVSI for Enhancing Power Quality
Abdul Latheep M , Sugumar S and Meenakshi Sundaram B
Abstract -- The main aim of project is to enhance the power quality by using grid connected DVSI. The suggested scheme is contained of two inverters, which allows the microgrid to interchange power produced by the distributed energy resources (DERs) and also to compensate the local unbalanced and nonlinear load. The control algorithms are developed based on ISCT (instantaneous symmetrical component theory) to trigger DVSI in grid sharing and grid injecting modes. The proposed scheme has reducing THD, increased trustworthiness, lesser bandwidth requirement of the main inverter, lower cost due to reduction in filter size, and enhanced consumption of microgrid power while using reduced dc-link voltage rating for the main inverter. These features make the DVSI scheme a favorable option for microgrid supplying sensitive loads. The planned topology specialized through simulation results.
Smart Automated Surveillance System using Raspberry Pi
Eben Jones S, Mathan Kumar G and Shanmugaraja C
Abstract -- The paper describes the surveillance system based on Raspberry Pi micro-computer which is used to stream and store the video for future reference. Security remains one of the major aspects of smart cities and industrial sectors. Now a days, dur to increased population and urbanization there is a huge demand for security system.. The basic aim of system design is to continuously capture the surroundings under surveillance. The paper involves monitoring area with low cost and minimum power consumption.
Multifunctional Smart Shoe for Women Safety
Samson S, Suryakumar P R, Ruba T, Tamilselvi R and Parisa Beham M
Abstract -- “Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live in”, According to this quotes a healthy body can make a wealthy family. Weight becomes a major part in maintaining healthy body. The regular and frequent monitoring of weight will make the person more conscious about the health and maintenance of healthy body. By considering this as a main fact, the proposed work will develop an automated wearable weighing machine as a shoe. The main problem addressed in this work is the wearable weighing machine along with safety measures that helps women during harassments. In addition to this, the shoe can also generate electricity through walking pressure of the wearer. The proposed project shoe has three modules. Module 1 is used for measuring the wearer’s weight automatically. Module 2 is used to generate the electricity using solar panel and Module 3 is used for providing safety to the women during any harassments. This proposed wearable shoe can be act as a smart shoe for the wearer and make the wearer to feel happy, healthy and comfort while wearing this.
Wheelchair - An Autonomous Vehicle with Smartness
Muthupandian B, Ayesha A, Rithi G and Rizwana Fathima M J
Abstract -- Many people suffering from disabilities cannot afford to move, smart devices enable them to gain access to healthcare systems. They are suffering of temporary or permanent disabilities due to illnesses or accidents. For cases of difficult or impossible walking, the use of a wheelchair is becoming essential. Manual or electrical wheelchairs are satisfying for most of the low and medium level disability case where patients can use the wheelchair independently. However, in severe cases, it is difficult or impossible to use wheelchairs independently. In such cases wheelchair users often lack independent mobility and rely on somebody else handle the wheelchair. Researchers involved in wheelchair are aiming at designing smart wheelchairs to solve such problems. A possible solution to monitor the patient’s health status is by developing a health monitoring system. The purpose of Smart Sensing Wheelchair is to monitor the biological parameters of the patient on a regular basis and notify the concerned person through a message. The objective of the present work is to develop an inexpensive smart wheel chair by integrating a microcontroller based health monitoring system to a regular wheel chair, to detect any abnormality using biological parameter and alert designated cell phone users by sending the alert signal over the cellular network.
Auxiliary Service System Based on ZigBee
Divya Shree B, Kannika and Jeyanthi
Abstract -- Conducting high-quality nursing practice for patients in infusion room at medical facilities is an essential medical issue nowadays. To this purpose, a framework for smart infusion auxiliary service system with ZigBee wireless network. The framework is mainly composed of three components: a master service platform; multiple independents control platforms; and a wheeled robot. Each patient will hold a RFID card and be assigned a seat accordingly. Each seat is equipped with an independent control platform, a patient is able to send various service requests to the master service platform using this, as well as control the instruments around him. The automated vehicle is used to deliver goods requested by the patients.
